About
Making workplaces better isn’t rocket science
This project is about bringing positive change to the mining industry
Thriving in Mining is funded by the Mental Awareness Respect and Safety (MARS) Program, a whole of government collaborative initiative led by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, in collaboration with the Mental Health Commission, the Equal Opportunity Commission, and the Department of Communities.
The MARS Program aims to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of workers and others in the mining industry.
Key focus areas of the MARS Program are:
- Creating mentally healthy workplaces by promoting positive practices at work that support mental health and wellbeing.
- Building a culture of safety and respect with healthy, safe, gender-equitable, respectful and inclusive workplaces.
- Preparing for workplace safety in future mining.
Meet our educators
The duo behind This Working Life have carefully curated this lesson series to help everyone in and across the mining industry. Combining their expertise and industry experience with principles based on the Thrive at Work Framework from the Future of Work Institute, they have put together evidence-based resources to support your workplace.
These legends are Sue Crock and Julie Loveny, a pair of facilitators and educators with an impressive background in organisational and leadership development, mental health education, and a specialist interest in creating thriving workplaces. They have a wealth of experience in developing workplace mental health programs and running workshops with cutting-edge training for employees and leaders.
